Bridging TBLT and CLIL

Task-based Learning and CLIL a methodological framework for designing tasks integrating content and language

Workshop delivered at the Working CLIL Conference, Faculty of Arts, University of Porto, 16-17 March 2018

In this workshop, teachers were introduced to a methodological framework developed to help them plan CLIL activities. The framework is based on that of the European-funded project PETALL, which was awarded the 2016 European Languages Label. After a brief theoretical introduction to the principles of Task-based Learning and its articulation with CLIL, a template designed to systematise the task was provided and discussed, examples were shown, and teachers were invited to produce a proposal for a CLIL task to be presented. 1. knowledge/experience level of participants in CLIL: all; 2. the educational level for CLIL: general; 3. specific subject area(s): general; 4. intended activities for participants. Participants are encouraged to bring their laptops or tablets.
